The High Dam known as a Engineering Miracle was built during the reign of Egyptian President Gamal Abd- Elnasser on the River Nile. The Dam was mainly constructed for storing excess water resulting from Floods, also it was the main source of Electricity for Egypt. Located in the beautiful City of Aswan in Southern Egypt of wich Aswan is the last Egyptian City on the border with Sudan.The Dam is 3,600 Meters in Length the base width is 980 meters and the upper width is 40 meters and has a height of 111 meters. Since the Pharaoh Times the Egyptians have realized the importance of the Nile Waters. As a result of its construction a Great Lake was formed between Egypt and Sudan hence Lake Nasser.
