The Valley of the Kings used for Royal Burials not only for the Kings but for their families and possessions also. Where is the Valley of the Kings Located The City of Luxor known as Thebes in Ancient Times is split into 2 sides. There is the East Bank and the West Bank of the River Nile. The Valley of the Kings is located on the West Bank. There is a very good reason for this location of the Valley of the Kings as it is quite isolated which made it very difficult for potential Grave Robbers to reach and loot the Tombs, therefore adding extra security. when was the valley of the kings discovered?
